The Passion of Excellence, Gastronomy and the Art of Well Being
A merchant and owner of a sawmill, Alphonse Boire built this residence in 1893. He sold it a few years later to Louis Paré, a businessman well known in Granby for having founded the first telephone company. In 1919, the house became the property of another prominent figure, the photographer Aimé Tremblay, who immortalized on film many citizens of Granby. In 1945, the carpenter Oscar Cabana bought the house, keeping it for more than two decades.
It was in winter 2016 that Kevin Proulx, John Proulx and Guy Ouellette took possession of the former Da Teresa and after several months of renovations, it is summer 2017 that Maison Boire was born in the hands of Reinaldo Larraguibel Tejo and Brian Proulx.
The name was chosen in honor of the past of this house, in honor of Mr. Alphonse Boire who, 124 years ago, took possession of a parcel of land and decided to build his house there.
13 Court Street is now a heritage building in Granby.
