Chez Milot

This spacious and comfortable early-century home was built by a Mr. Desjardins on Route 11, what used to be called the "Northern Road" and has since become Valiquette Street. It was the perfect place to raise a large family.

During the years of the crisis, the living room served as an office for the gas station across the street (which later became a convenience store). Later on, Mr. Desjardins would only occupy the second floor of this house, and the main floor then became the post office of Sainte-Adèle-en-Bas. This sturdy building has consecutively served as a daycare, a home accessories shop, and since 1979 has been dedicated to the restaurant business; first with the "Bistro de la Poste," then the "Café de la Poste," and afterwards "L’Ailloli de la Poste," before becoming, on November 1, 1985, "Chez Milot."

Claude Descôteaux, a graduate of ITHQ, and his wife Carmen McDonald, having worked 25 years in the restaurant industry, realized their dream in October 1990 by acquiring this charming restaurant in which they had told each other a few years earlier: "One day, this is the kind of restaurant we will have." Éric Marin With over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry and a graduate of ITHQ in 2005 in hospitality and restaurant management, it was in May 2014 that their son, Éric Marin, finally became the owner. Drawing on all his past experiences, it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm and a head full of ideas that Éric takes over the family business to continue the enterprise that celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025.
